Seurakunnat ovat suoneet turvapaikanhakijoille suojan. Kirkkohan on armon ja rakkauden tyyssija, ei tuomion paikka. Mikäli turvapaikan kirkosta saanut on syyllistynyt johonkin rikolliseen, tulee hänen itse käsittää vastuunkanto.
Kirkosta saadussa turvapaikassa EI ole kyse siis siitä, että kirkolla olisi jotain tietoa turvapaikanhakijasta, jota muilla viranomaisilla ei ole.
Kirkot ovat tuen paikkoja. Se on niiden tehtävä tässä kysymyksessä.

Is your church like no-mans land like neutrelal territory, no law reach there. Why I ask is because it is like that here. Lot of refugees live in church halls waiting for application processing. They are safe in a church as long as they don't leave to go outside. Churches don't pay taxes for anything, land ,property etc. Catholic Church that is, I don't know for the other ones. They are country itself.

There are now instructions made for the parishes how to deal with this issue. These instructions are made in Finnish. The Swedish ones are coming. So actually I don't know any details except for what I read in the church bulletin. The bulletin says we have two cases now in Finland, one here in Åbo (Turku) and one in Kuopio. In the church one member of the group dealing with refugee-issues says the church can have some complementary information to the "mundane" official side about persons seeking asylum. I think this doesn't hit the essential part of the issue at all. But as you can see the lutheran church - as the tradition runs - is not putting itself outside the law - at least not in the long run.

Minun mielestä vastuunkanto on tärkeää, jottei käytä luottamusta väärin.
