Just found out the Minister of Education has resigned due to "family reasons". All respect to Sarkomaa but I can't help to imagine the impact of her decision for all other women with family in politics and other male-dominated areas. No man (except maybe Stefan Wallin) would have done something like this.

I'm planning to move. I'm so sick of the landlord's ignorance. If a thing breaks down, such as the fridge, he is to fix it, damn it! But no. The fridge's been broken for quite a while and he's not even answering my calls or text messages. So I found a studio not far from my current location. The rent will go up but I suppose you have to pay for privacy. Have to go and get the keys tomorrow and go see the place, and then work out the rental contract. And talk my sister into driving my stuff to the place. Yours truly really should get a driver's license (really, but there just are no female teachers!)... eats away my independence.

Minustakin se oli hieno päätös. Huudahdin spontaanisti "hyvä" kun kuulin asiasta. Kerrankin joku korkeassa asemassa oleva uskaltaa konkreettisesti näyttää, että hänellä ovat asiat oikeassa tärkeysjärjestyksessä.

Mutta, mutta... suurimmalla osalla ei ole, mistä taas seuraa, että tällaisen päätöksen tekijöitä katsotaan kieroon. Erityisesti niitä, jotka eivät ole korkeassa asemassa vaan ihan taviksia. Niin että saa nähdä... epäilen silti, että tällä on negatiivisia vaikutuksia muille naisille työelämässä. Meillä menee muutenkin huonosti jo.
