Dear J.

I know that it is Your custom to ask why people are resigning, so I thought to put mine down in writing.

First and foremost of all I do have to admit that the time I've spent here has been very educational for me. I've learned to work hard, I've learned that sometimes there is simply no reason even to try to be nice towards others - but most importantly, I've learned that I really love this work.
And with a hint of self-conscious pride I can say that it is a big loss for any company to lose those people who love the work they do. I can oly hope that one day the company also realizes that genuine smiles maky happy passengers and also that which we were also taught in sales training: a happy customer brings 3 new customers but unhappy one takes 7 away.

And as I do love this work I'm going to work for another airline, and I do believe that they actually do care for their cabin crew. I resolved to quit here after I heard what S.C. said to one cabin crew in the crew room: "We wouldn't be the leading low-fares airline if we cared for our 1150 cabin crew."
Even though I've found little or no reason whatsoever to contradict her words, I find it appalling that a manager of her status can, and WILL, say something like that aloud.

Truth to be told, I think You do good job managing a base this size - it cannot be easy! There are (and always will be, I fear) people who do dislike what and how You say things...
...But I am, however, amazed and stunned that too many crew controllers, and even some other people, all of them adults, should be put into some course to learn even the basics of manners!

I don't know if this letter will change anything anywhere or will it just end up in some rubbish bin, but at least I've given my reasons of leaving - and tried.

Jos tärkeimmän palautteen saa asiakkailta, jotka lopettavat asiakassuhteensa, niin kait silloin tärkeimmän palautteen saa työntekijältä, joka lopettaa työsuhteensa? Toivottavasti lukisivat kirjettäsi tältä pohjalta.

Tämän aion varastaa tulevaan kehityskeskusteluuni esimieheni kanssa: "I can say that it is a big loss for any company to lose those people who love the work they do". Näen jo, kuinka palkkapussini paisuu merkittävästi. Ei, et saa osinkoja :D
