Okay, so I got an answer from the linguistics student union, from the CEO herself. The message can be reduced in a single sentence: "As we [edustajisto/ainejärjestö/joku muu, mikä???] are a sub-organisation to the university's Student Union, which supports this [of course they support it, the majority of them are business studies students!], we agree with them." Something tells me that either she has no idea what's happening (oh, and she also said there will be actions taken *when the time is right* [when is the time right if not now when we still have a chance to change something!!!]) or she has only read the statements given by the university's Student union CEO.
Luckily I have an insider in the linguistics student union "government", my sister. :) They have a spring meeting this Thursday and my sister will bring this up; after all, she was the only person present from the linguistics student union government in that little info last Thursday. Meanwhile, I go harass the dean (or the next-in-command, or the next-of-the-next-in-command).

P.S. If you're wondering about the hightened mood as compared to the previous message, there is indeed a reason for that: I went through different possibilities if the faculty here was to cease to exist, and as a result I'll be putting my paper's to the University of Turku ("not you, too!") and English philology. Perhaps I'll get in in which case I have to move again (...).
