Madonna says she has established why she is such a gay icon: she is a “gay man trapped in a woman’s body”.
The Hung Up singer said that gay men can relate directly with her and that’s why she is still considered a star by a large majority.
She also says during an interview with Michael Parkinson that gay men have also been the most loyal and welcoming of her work.
"Maybe I'm a gay man trapped in a woman's body," she says during the interview, which will be broadcast on Saturday night. "They didn't have a problem with my Sex book,” she added.
