"Le Hasard fait bien les choses" (2000, TV);
It is about a man who a judge chooses randomly to be the guardian of a teenage boy. (She plumps her finger down in the telefonbook and finds a married university professor without children.)
It turns out that said professor is gay, and the marriage was one to do a favor for his mother and also get the bride in question a swiss passport. (It takes place in Geneva.) He is in a stable relationship with another man, but very much in the closet because of his profession, and because he has just been elected to a very high position at the university. Since the kid turns out to be a pain (purposely, he wants to be rid of the guardian) the prof puts in a legal plea to be releaved of the guardianship, which involves an investigation by the social services. This means getting together again (temporarily) with his
wife-in-name. Great confusion results, it is all very funny.
